Multi-family is a core project type for Brown Design Studio. It is our goal to bring dignified housing choices to the market, at all price points for all lifestyles. Many times projects will try to put the multi-family only on the lower end of the market. Our experience is that you need both affordable rentals and higher end choices in most markets, in order to establish and expand a diverse, sustainable community.

Our design objective is to bring great units to the table with a simple yet elegant building. We achieve this by incorporating traditional patterns and proportions, while accommodating ‘outdoor living spaces’ (ie. porches, galleys, and/or balconies) where appropriate. 

Our portfolio involves dozens of multi-family projects in a variety of markets, including assisted/independent living sectors. We strive to bring a refined residential feel regardless of scale, from large complexes to smaller infills, with the ability to offer additional services such as amenity buildings, outdoor space design, and even land planning. We have worked solely and collaboratively, developing both concept work and overall design for architects, builders, and developers nationwide.
