Carlton Landing Townhouses

Carlton Landing is a new town development located on Lake Eufaula, Oklahoma, that has a master plan specifically designed around the people, not the automobile. The Town Plan creates an environment that is walkable, interacts with the land and has a full range of town center to rural life style choices. While Carlton Landing is a 30 year completion process, it grants time on the development for details and quality to be appreciated, as well as allowing for intimate and public spaces to be designed at a human scale and utilized to nourish a strong sense of community.

Our collection of attached and semi-attached townhouses, transition between the core single-family neighborhoods and the town center of Carlton Landing. The plans are for 20’ and 30’ units with both master up and down configurations and high ceilings. These plans also include small alley ways that connect to the common courtyard that is fronted by a rear detached unit.

The local style architecture is defined as Oklahoma Territorial, a version of a more vernacular architecture. The exterior architecture of these townhouses include balconies, stoops and planters that are the details that add interest to the more urban style frontages. These gifts to the street allow for the structure to engage with the street. This choice of style reflects the local vernacular setting with wood, brick and stone.

These are an old but very common form of dense attached and detached Single-Family kind of housing, that is frequently used in T4 - T5 areas of a town. Having these specific units built on a commercial street leading to the Town Center, it switches to an urban style architecture. They are the transition between commercial and detached single-family units.
