May 22nd, 2017. 5pm at the Trinity Methodist Church
Join us for the third installment of our Savannah Urbanism Series on Monday, May 22nd, 2017, to welcome architect, urbanist, consultant and educator; Dhiru Thadani. Brought to you by the CNU Savannah Chapter.
Mr. Thadani has been a leading designer for many new development, urban retrofit, neighborhood revitalization, as well as infill projects to densify areas. Throughout the years he has created neighborhoods that provide balance, walkability and a diverse range of housing and workplaces. These new development projects have reinforced regional planning for open space and provide a kind of architecture that reflects the climate, culture and context.
Through his teachings, Mr. Thadani has brought the kind of exercises that teach students the principles and techniques of traditional urbanism and contextual architecture. These are the kinds of things that we want to continue to apply to the city of Savannah, while it is a prime example of an urban place that continues to grow and develop towards being more livable, walkable and sustainable.
Our top goal with the Savannah Urbanism Series is to educate and empower the Savannah area on the city’s current issues. We are excited to bring leading professional, Dhiru Thadani to help answer and explain the difficult questions on change, growth, and development for the city of Savannah. The approaches to the development of the city are the driven rules for the future with the potential of being challenged through these vital discussions.
